I trade funded futures accounts as part of my business, so I care about the rules behind the marketing — drawdown, consistency, payouts, account sizes, profit splits, and what it actually feels like to trade under each firm. This page compares Apex, TradeDay, Topstep, Take Profit Trader, Tradeify, Lucid Trading, and My Funded Futures from a trader's point of view. It is not a ranked "best of" list and it is not a blanket recommendation. It is a practical rulebook-style breakdown for traders who want to understand the deal before they buy.
I separate firms I have personally traded from firms I have only researched. Rules are based on each firm's public terms, but pricing, promos, and account rules change often. Always confirm current terms directly with the firm before buying. This page is informational only and is not financial advice.
I run an Apex account alongside TradeDay. The widest platform selection of any firm here and no daily loss limit fits how I trade — but the rulebook has changed more than once in the past year, so read the current terms carefully before you fund an account.
Strengths
No daily loss limit
100% of first $25K in profits
Widest platform choice (13+)
Largest account sizes available, up to $300K
Watch For
Rules have changed significantly more than once recently
Higher list pricing before promo codes
Mandatory bracket-order enforcement on some account types
TradeDay is where I currently trade funded — Fast Pass, EOD drawdown. Day-one payouts and a simple rulebook are why I moved here from Apex. Use code TJUS at checkout — heads up, TradeDay pre-fills their own code, so clear it and type TJUS manually.
Strengths
Day-one payouts, processed fast
Simple, single-fail-condition rulebook
No daily loss limit
Profit split scales up to 95%
Watch For
Smaller account range than Apex ($50K–$150K only)
Recently restructured account types — if you're reading an older review, some of it is out of date
I've traded a Topstep account before moving to TradeDay and Apex. It has the longest track record of any firm on this page — over a decade funding futures traders. It also comes up constantly in trader forums lately with complaints about rule and payout changes — worth checking current sentiment before you commit.
Strengths
Longest operating history (est. 2010)
Large trader community and mentorship resources
Proprietary TopstepX platform, built in-house
Watch For
Smaller account range ($50K–$150K)
Recent trader reports of tightening rules and payout conditions
Take Profit Trader's platform support is the deepest I've found — 13+ platforms including Bookmap, Sierra Chart, and Jigsaw, which matters if you trade order-flow tools most firms don't support. I haven't funded an account here myself, so treat this as research, not a personal review.
Strengths
Widest platform support of any firm here (13+)
PRO+ tier offers direct live exchange routing, not just simulated
Daily payouts once buffer clears
Watch For
Two-tier PRO/PRO+ structure adds complexity
Smallest account has the least room between profit target and drawdown
The newest firm on this list, but it's scaled fast with a genuinely trader-friendly reputation: no activation fees, algo/bot trading allowed on some plans, and an instant-funding option if you want to skip the evaluation entirely. I haven't traded it myself — this is research, not firsthand.
Strengths
No activation fees on any plan
Instant-funding path available (skip the evaluation)
EOD drawdown across every account type
Algo/bot trading permitted
Watch For
Newest firm here — shortest track record
Top profit split caps lower than Apex or TradeDay's best tier
The youngest firm on this page by a wide margin — launched in 2025 — but it built its reputation fast on payout speed, reportedly averaging around 15 minutes once a request clears. I haven't funded an account here myself, so treat this as research, not firsthand.
Strengths
Very fast reported payout turnaround
No activation fees
100% of first $10K in profits
Instant-funding option (LucidDirect) available
Watch For
Newest firm here — shortest track record by far, still under a year old
Daily loss limit applies on all sizes above the smallest account
Sister company to MyFundedFX, and one of the widest platform lineups of any firm here — nine platforms including order-flow tools like ATAS and Volumetrica. I haven't traded it myself. Plan structure and payout cadence have both changed more than once in the past year, so confirm the current plan names before you buy.
Strengths
Widest platform lineup here — nine platforms, including order-flow tools
No activation fees
No daily loss limit on most plans
Large, active trading community
Watch For
Plan names and profit-split terms have changed more than once recently
Payout cadence varies by plan — confirm before you buy in
